Hi! My name is Chase, and I'm looking for my furever home. I am very playful and full of energy. I came from a home that had "too many dogs". I didn't know that was possible, but that's what I heard! I am a bit shy at first, but I warm up. I need a home that is patient and willing to teach me what being a dog is all about.
Did you know that we receive NO funding from the City, County, or State!
We rely ENTIRELY on your generous donations! Whether it is money, dog & cat food (Pedigree for the dogs and Purina for the cats please), products, or time, call us today to see how you can help! Our FURRY FRIENDS thank you!
You also have the option of making a monthly financial donation.
The 2021 Bark in the Park event is scheduled for June 12th at Riverside Park. We are looking for vendors who would like to sell their wares. Email us at or call 870.793.0090 for more information.

Our adoption process is very simple and our fee is $100 for dogs and $90 for cats, though some animals are priced above or below those amounts. All animals will be spayed or neutered and will have had age-appropriate vaccinations. Once you take your new best furever friend home, you will need to take them to your personal vet for a wellness check and to start yearly routine visits. Always remember to have an ID tag on your pet, it could be their ticket home. At any given time our shelter may have up to 100 dogs and 50 cats at our facility. Some of these animals are shy and get left behind. So, if you can find a place in your heart and home to open up to our wonderful animals, please come into our shelter today and ADOPT your next Best Furever Friend!

Our shelter always appreciates a helping hand! There are so many ways you can be a part of the Humane Society of Independence County, even if you do not want to help directly with animals there are other ways you can support our shelter. Fostering and volunteering are two very important areas our shelter could use your help!
